AUGUSTA, Ga.
— AUG. 26, 2020 — The tour of Alcatraks Tour Championship, the world’s longest golf tournament, begins at the Georgia Aquarium in Augusta, Georgia.
This year’s event will be the eighth time that the Alcatras have held the Tour Championship.
In 2017, the Alcaasters won the title and were joined by five of the top 12 players in the world at the 2017 PGA Championship.
Now, it’s on to 2020.
The tour begins at 8:30 a.m. with the first round of the tournament, which takes place Friday, Aug. 29 at the Augusta Bayou Course in Gainesville, Georgia, the site of the 2018 PGA Championships.
In the afternoon, the second round begins, with the top three players from each round facing off on the first tee.
Next week, the top four players from the top two rounds of the first two rounds will face off for a $10,000 prize purse.
The winner of that round will earn a second chance at the Tour championship, and the runner-up will take home a $5,000 bonus.
The final round of events takes place Saturday, Aug 30 at the Northside Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida.
During the tournament’s opening round, players will be rewarded for their consistent play with the $10-per-point bonuses.
After the top players from rounds three through five of each event are eliminated from contention, the winner of the third round will face the runner up for the second spot.
The top four will then face off in the final round for the third spot, with all remaining players being eliminated from competition.
Players who win the top prize at the third-round tournament will be awarded a trip to the PGA TOUR Championship, which is held the following weekend in Tallahassee, Florida, in the first weekend of August.
While the tour is underway, here are the most anticipated tournaments of the upcoming year.
