By Jesse White”When I started this journey, I wanted to win.
I wanted it to be like my last tour.
It would be the ultimate goal for me, to win this tour.
I started in October of 2018.
I’m going to go there, and hopefully I’ll be able to make it to the end.
I started out with $20,000 in my pocket.
I don’t think I’ve ever won a tournament before.
And I started with just a couple hundred dollars.
It was a gamble.
I wanted to get out of the house and not play anymore.
I needed to put money away.
And that’s when I started to lose my mind.
I was going to get myself into a lot of trouble.
I didn’t know what to do.
I thought, ‘Man, I have no idea what I’m doing.’
It’s funny, because when I look back on it now, I was a lot smarter about it than I was when I first started out.
I was sitting at home one day, and I was just thinking, ‘Oh, I guess I’m gonna go and win a tour championship, right?
I’ll go out and play.
I’ll have a couple thousand dollars.’
And I just started playing, and it just kept getting better and better.
I went to my hotel room and started to play, and every time I hit the ball, I knew I was gonna get the win.
I had a lot more faith in myself.
I’d had so much success in the past, and now I was starting to believe in myself again.
So, I started playing again and I played a little bit harder.
I knew, if I just keep going, I’m just gonna make it.
I had a couple tournaments left, and then one of my friends, I went out to play.
He came up to me and he said, ‘Are you gonna do this?
Is it going to be worth it?’
And I said, yeah, it is worth it.
It was just like a dream come true, and just being able to go to that final event, that’s something that I’ve always wanted to do, and this is the first time that I have ever done it.
And it was something I was willing to do to make this happen.
I just wanted to be able get out there and compete in front of my family.
I love my wife and my children.
And if you see me out there, you’re going to see that, too.
I think it was just a dream that I never could have imagined.
It’s just really, really rewarding.
I feel blessed to be here and I’m looking forward to it every single day, even if it’s a little bumpy.
It’s a huge feeling.
To be out there playing, to be at the final table, to just have a big smile on your face, it’s just like no one else is doing it.
To see the fans cheering you on, it just makes you feel so good.
And then, of course, when you win the tournament, you just kind of feel like, wow, that was a good experience.
I’ve been lucky enough to win it a few times, and my wife has been great too.
So it’s been a really fun experience.
It hasn’t been easy to win tournaments, especially this season, but I’m here to stay.
And we’ll see how it goes.
But, for now, it feels great to be back out there.
We’ve just got to wait and see.
I know I’ll do the same thing when I get back.
I have a lot in common with my friend and fellow Canadian, Jordan Spieth, from the Masters, and the three of us are all looking forward, as well.
And Jordan’s just going to continue to work so hard, and work really hard, so we’re all going to make sure that we’re in good shape for the tour and our next one.
I want to thank all of my fans and my friends who have been supporting me throughout this whole journey.
I really appreciate all of them, and we appreciate every single one of you, whether it’s through social media, text, email, anything.
Just a huge thank you.
I hope you guys continue to support me and make this the best it can be.
